Noodles & Co

Noodles & Co in the new structure at the corner of South and N Salisbury Streets.
Beware carb addicts and pasta aficionados of the tantalizing lure that is Noodles & Co. Everything about this fortress of boiled goodness is designed to arrest, delight, and leave wanting. I have tried several dishes at this location since its opening in early summer, having tried the franchise only once before in Denver.
I have enjoyed the flavors of each dish and truly cannot complain about their composition, however I am usually left wanting more. There are two reasons for this. One is that I am a carb addict, and one modest "hit" will leave me thirsting. Two is that while I am pleased I can get a meal in the $5 range, I still hate that I am paying this price for a handful of noodles. Yes, yes! I realize I am paying for the service, the delicate stir of the spoon, the splash of oil, the scoop of dried herb from the cheapest wholesaler. This ain't Ramen, no sir. But still, it's noodles!
Until I venture to try a wider variety of dishes, I find the simplest dish the most pleasing - that with only butter and cheese with the option of seasoning. I suppose this is indicative of my worldly palate, longing for simple flavors, and good God almighty love of cheese. Amen.
